Appointment at SGH - Clinic D Colorectal specialist

This is my second time to SGH Clinic D Colorectal specialist. I had my first colonscopy 2 years ago. The clinic wasn't foreign to me and I can still remember the procedure. Doctor Fu was my doctor today. She is totally different from the doctor Lim from Polyclinic. Doctor Fu is nice and caring. She listened to my symdrome and did a simple check for me. Turned out that I have Piles (http://www.medinfo.co.uk/conditions/haemorrhoids.html). She told me the bleeding is caused by piles but she will schedule me for Colonscopy anyway. I was graceful her assurance. And she offer me Medical Leave for today becos I was coughing my lungs out at her room, so kind of her.

Made my payment and proceed to Rm 11. My Colonscopy is scheduled on 12th November at 10.15am. I have to start fasting on the nigth before after 7pm. I can only take light fish soup noodle for dinner.

Medical appointment.

Went to the poly clinic today. The whole experience wasn't that bad probably becos we make it a point to be the first patient in the afternoon. Waited at the poly clinic at 1.20pm althought the consultation will only start at 2pm.

The doctor that saw me wasn't the typical nice and kind lady doctor. She was cold and unsympathetic. I was coughing my lungs out but obviously she thought my conditions is not that serious. She almost didn't want to give me a MC. What the F***. Anyway, if not becos of the reference letter for my Colonscopy, I will not be there to see her. She is super unhelpful, when I asked for the letter, she sounded kind of unwilling althought I told her I have a strong family history and I recently found blood in my STOOLS.

Anyway, I got the letter and I know the procedure, went to room 14 where they will help me to call SGH for a medical appointment. This time, they messed up, they called SGH and was told that the earliest appointment date will be April 08, I almost fainted. So they tried AH, I was lucky, someone cancelled her/his appointment, so I got a slot at 12th Nov.
Not too bad, definitely better than April next year but my previous records are with SGH. So the lady suggested that I call SGH to borrow my records for my appointment with AH. Luckily I made the call personally. When I called up SGH, I decided to ask if I really need to wait till April 08. I also told her I would prefer SGH since my records are with them. The lady on the phone was shocked, she said my typed kind of cases will get an appointment within a week. She put me on hold and less than a min she got me a slot on 31th Oct at 12noon. Can't believed what happened at the Poly Clinic.
So, please do continue to pray for me, still scare. I will only know if I am clear after my colonscopy.

Tailgate

I hate people who tailgate while driving. I find those drivers who tailgate are simply rude and idiotic. They are not only causing danger to themselves but also the life of others.

Today, I make a big fuss after Louis decided to tailgate me while we are on our way to IMM. I was driving and I am not slow, I am travelling at 100km/hr and when I look up my rear mirror, I saw him tailgate me really closed. So I changed lane and he contiune to do that. I was damn damn pissed when I saw that. To him, he was just having fun while it really irritate me. I can't believed it. Really angry.

Here I am worried about my colon, thus while I was driving, I was thinking how should I face the outcome if the result is bad? How would I react? What should I do? And on the other hand, he is driving like an idiot to irritate me. I almost go crazy.

Today, there is still blood in my stools and I am really worried.

JOY

Holiday time again. Just confirmed our trip to GZ (yes, GZ again) in Jan 08. This time, I am going with my hubby and my shopping kaki, Vanessa and her Hubby to be, Thomas. It is going to be fun and this time I will be going there for a straight 6 days, longest trip ever.

Jan is going to be cold but we are all looking forward to it. There will be lots of eating and shopping waiting for us man.

Counting down to GZ, we are 71 days away from GZ...are you excited?

FEAR

I am still feeling weak after a long night of rest. Other than the bad cought and sore throat, something else is haunting me. As you may know, my family has the history of Colon Cancer and all of us in the family will have 50% chance of getting it. Colon cancer is 100% treatable if it is discover early. Below are the Symdrome of Colon Cancer.

  • a change in bowel habit
  • blood in the stool
  • bloating, persistent abdominal distention constipation
  • a feeling of fullness even after having a bowel movement
  • narrowing of the stool-so-called ribbon stools
  • persistent, chronic fatigue
  • abdominal discomfort
  • unexplained weight loss
  • very rarely, nausea and vomitingly.

What scared me was, these few days i have discover blood in my stool. The most effective way of discovering Colon Cancer is thru reglar check up and a yearly colonscopy. I missed mine last year, so I am rushing down to Poly Clinic the coming Monday for a reference letter for a appointment with SGH. No time to waste. Pray for me!!

New Hairdo

I have rebonded my hair and now it is time to trim and highight it. Get ready for my new hairdo, going to get it done tomorrow. Yeah

Sick, ill, unwell, whatever you call it

Once again, I am down with bad cough and sore throat. I rememebered falling ill not very long again and it took me quite a while to recover fully. Was really frustrated to be feeling ill, tired and restless.

Why am I so weak? I am leading a healthy lifestyle what, I am jogging regularly, in fact more than what I used to do and I am eating quite healthily and popping vitamin daily, so why am I still so weak? Really don't quite get it.

The sore throat is really irritating and I have melted ton of lozenges in my mouth already man, those very strong one even numb my tongue. I can't believed I am going to spend my weekend feeling ill again and YES, AGAIN.

Late

What happened? I was late twice today. Late for work and late for class. I set my alarm clock to ring an hour early as I wanted to buy breakfast for my colleague (s) to repay for his help. Ended up, I overslept and was late for work. I remembered killing the irritating sound at 7am but the next moment i opened my eye, it was already 9am. Got a nasty shocked, jumped out of bed and message my understanding boss. I got ready in less than 15min and I got out of my house.

My meeting ended late and I rushed back to IMM from Millenia walk, got caught in the traffic jam and i was half an hour late. Luckily, i got my dear Fairy to entertain the rest of the students. I hate this...

Lazy weekend

I survived my very eventful week. Grandma eye's operation went on very well. Althought she was very exhausted after the Op but I believed she will be rewarded with clear vision soon. We were very worried before the the Op, but grandma was stronger than we thought, she was calm and composed. I am really glad that I was with her before and after the Op, the quality time that we spent together is really really priceless. Ah ma, jia you, I love you.

I had a great time during our company bowling game with our business partner. Had good fun and everything turn out good. Althought we lost in all categories but I won some money thru our side bet. Thank you uncle TL.

So I am very happy to be able to spend my Sat doing nothing, needed the break desperately. Went to my fav cafe, Starbuck with Louis. So relaxing...

Coffee for you??

Me and my Soy latte

Act cool ah...

Today feels like a Friday

Today is only Tuesday, but I am so tired and hoping today is already Friday. This week is another busy week, full of activities with very little chance to rest. The most worrying thing will be my grandma op. I know, this is a small op for many people but I can't help worrying for my grandma. Hope all is well.

Can't wait for the weekend to be here...so tiring.

Having my golf game at Warren CC tomorrow, will be another tiring day...more update after the game.

Grandma eye's operation.

Grandma is scheduled for her cataract operation this coming Thursday. She is excited about the operation cos of the blur vision that she is experiencing now, but we are all worried cos she had Glaucoma on her other eye. Meaning, she is operating on her better eye in hope of a clearer vision but in the midst of doing so, she might also risk not able to see for a couple of days.

I have taken leave to accompany my grandma. When i bought my first car, i told my grandma i can fetch her to the hospital, must carry out what i promised.

Some info about Glaucoma:

Glaucoma refers to a category of eye disorders often associated with a dangerous buildup of internal eye pressure (intraocular pressure or IOP), which can damage the eye's optic nerve that transmits visual information to the brain.
With untreated or uncontrolled glaucoma, you might eventually notice decreased ability to see at the edges of your vision (peripheral vision). Progressive eye damage could then lead to blindness.
In fact, as the second leading cause of blindness, glaucoma creates at least some vision loss in more than half of the approximately 2.5 million Americans estimated to have the eye disease.
Glaucoma Symptoms
Glaucoma is often referred to as the "silent thief of sight," because most types typically cause no pain and produce no symptoms. For this reason, glaucoma often progresses undetected until the optic nerve already has been irreversibly damaged, with varying degrees of permanent vision loss.
But with acute, angle-closure glaucoma, symptoms that occur suddenly can include blurry vision, halos around lights, intense eye pain, nausea, and vomiting. If you have these symptoms, make sure you immediately see an eye care practitioner or visit the emergency room so steps can be taken to prevent permanent vision loss.

Break-thru

A finally break thru, have been learning golf for awhile but i have been very inconsistent. I admit I have not practice hard enough and with a lousy coach who have the tentancy to look down on women, how fast can we improve right?

Anyway, with good tips from my boss and my secret weapon, i managed to drive more than 120m consistently last night. I am so excited.

Here's my weapon:

Best Wedding flavour...

Been to many wedding dinners, other than the couple, the highlight of the dinner has to be the wedding flavour on the dinning table.

I have collected wine charm for the wine glass, bears, chopsticks, magnet, tea in test tube, key chain, photo frame and candle. Last weekend, i collected the best wedding flavour so far, soft toy from the ZOO. Each guest suppose to have only one but i shamelessly collected 3..hahahahaha...I dun care....
