The old and new..

Did you hear about the Philip clearance sales on 23 and 24 August? I did and and I finally gave in to my 'want' of getting the blender. I am not sure how frequent I will be blending, which i suspect probably twice, the most three time a month or more like a year, but I still wants to have it. I might not be blending very often but at least I think the blender looks good in my kitchen. This year, other then baked rice, we can iced blended mocha, iced blended smoothies, iced blended everything...and not forgetting my very under used juicer.

While I am celebrating the additonal of my my blender, I have to bid farewell to my portable DVD player. Out of sudden, it just decided to die on me while I was watching my Sex and The City. It was my bed time entertainment for the past few weeks and now I have no Sex and The City, what must I do? Send the player for servicing which might cost me more then the value of the player or buy a new set? Seriously, I can't decide.

Beer Fest

Yet another crazy fun night organised by me and my team. Last year, we had the eating competition where some of my colleagues compete to finish half a watermelon, wasabi sandwich and spicy satays in the shortest possible time and it was really fun, cos I am only cheering and not eating.
This year, we had the Beer Challenge. Try to finish 750ml of iced cold beer in 15 Sec. If you think that's easy, then you are very wrong. I was challenged to take up the challenge. I am usually a very slow drinker, thus for me to finish that 750ml beer in 15 sec is literally impossible. But since my colleague is so daring, I took the challenge. Unexpectedly, I finished (almost) the beer in 40 sec, a timing that I can't imagine that I can achieve but I did it.

Stream fish

My mum and aunt are very supportive of home cooked food and healthy lifestyle. I have been wanting to try streaming fish at home but I have never try buying a fish from the market. Knowing how lousy I am, my aunt bought me this fish when she did her marketing and she even prepared the garnishing for me, so nice right? Just when I want to stream the fish, I realised I have no pot, not streamer non anything big or suitable to stream the fish. How sad....

Had our gathering at Vanessa new place, it was just good catch up, junk foods day and some alcohol to keep us sane. By the way, we celebrated Amela birthday as well. She is my dearest and most bitchy friend.

3 days is enough

I am back from Vietnam (HCM) and I survived the trip. When I said survived, I really mean it. 3 days is more than enough for me, got food poisoning the 4th day when I was there. Anyway, there wasn't much to do in HCM, what we did most other than eating was had our hair wash at the salon. Overall, it was an experience and bonding time for me, van and brian.

Home delivery

Do you know what's the best thing about on Medical Leave? It is food delivery from your friend. I got mine today from Vanessa. Not only lunch, she bought me my favourite Starbucks Soy Latte, tea break snack and titibits.

Back pain

I have injured my back while moving Award Nails but it was only a slight back injury. Then, after my shape run on Sunday, I decided to go for my leg massage and I told the lady that my back hurt so she gave me a back massage. I was feeling fine after the massage but came Monday, I walk with an acute pain on back. My condition turn worst on Tuesday, I can barely walk. Went to the GP and he gave me a jab and some pain killer. Today, I was all ready to go to work but I hurt my back again while I try to pick up my medicine. This time round, it is really bad, I was unable to move for at least 10 min, it was too painful. After struggling I called Louis to come back and send me to hospital. We went to the A&E at Alexandra Hospital, long wait. Luckily my urine test show that I have not infection and X-ray to confirm that there is no bone fracture.

My doctor gave me a jab of pain killer before sending me home. The jab is so powerful that nurse told me that I have to stay in bed for at least an hour before leaving hospital. I felt giddy and nauseous and my left arm is feeling very aching now.

Running

It took me 36min to completed my first 5km Shape Run today . Pretty pleased with the timing considering the fact that I have not been training at all for the run. I have also registered for another 5km run with GE in Oct, hopefully I will clock a faster timing then. The final event for this year will be Standchart run 2008, it will be another 10km.

The Starbucks Experience

Was browsing thru the business section at the bookstore yesterday and this book 'The Starbucks Experience caught my attention. I think my obession with Starbucks is going out of control. Wanted to buy the book but the damage is $42, so I hesitated and still hesitating. Anyway, I spent another relaxing Saturday having coffee and muffin with Louis at you know where.

Abandon

What kind of mother would abandon their young for greener pasture? I have not idea but my aunt is currently looking after one cute but sad little gal because her vietnamese mother decided to abandon her and her elder sister.

When I first saw Qiqi, I saw the sadness in her eyes and I felt for her immediately. The little gal is so needy and insecured and needed so much love. I guess, no amount of Love will fill her needs for her mother.

We have MOVED!!!

I am proud of myself, I have managed to move @award nails supply office single handedly (of cos, Louis help out by 'stealing' trolley from Giant and lending his unconditional support while I pack and unpack.)

Without make-up

Not many people have the priviledge of seeing me without my make up on, simply because I am vain (and becos i might look too pale to be out of the house). I am the type that will want to put on some light make up even if I am taking the trash out of the house (which is never).

Last week, afetr I have removed my make up to get ready for my weekly jog, I was photo as if I am a movie star. Here is one of the photo.

@Award Nails is moving

This is official, we are moving!! The good news is we are moving not too far from where we currently are. Will be shifting from level 5 to level 4. Sounds easy? Don't think so, I am expecting a hell lots of packing and unpacking to be done for the next few days. We have been in this current office for coming 3 years, can you imagines the amounts of stuffs to move, I am certainly not too excited about it. I have an ideas on how to move my stuffs, instead of packing them all in boxes, I am going to 'borrow' the shopping trolley from Gaint and pack all my stuffs in and push them down to level 4. This is will make packing and unpacking alot of easier, smart right?

I will be soaking myself in my office this Friday, Satuarday and Sunday, drop by if you are free, lend your helping hands and show me what are friends for..hahaha

I will be putting up photos of before and after of current and new offiice.

Family's Day

Satuarday was a mega family day for me. Started the day early to spend quality time with Louis, we went to Delfirance for their weekend buffet breakfast. Verdict? Foods suck, not worth trying again. After breakfast, went to my MIL place, suppose to celebrate my niece Reina birthday. She is turning to a terrible 3. No photo taken becos our birthday gal said she did not want to take photo and refuse to say 'Thank you' when Louis gave her an Hong Bao. A bit too rude for my liking. Guess it is not easy to be a parents but guess what, parents must still be firm when come to dsicipline the kid, that's the role of parents, isn't it?

I went to my grandma place after Louis left for work. Grandma looks tired. Went to my aunt place with my mum and cousin, we stayed for dinner since aunt wanted to cook for us. I have never tasted her cooking for the longest time. She is so into Organic foods, jus like my mum...so we had a very healthy dinner and it was very delicious. Well done, Irene.
